Israeli Jew attacked on Temple Mount

By Baruch Kra (Ha'aretz August 9)

Israeli Jew attacked by Palestinian for appearing to illegally mumble prayer on Temple Mount in Jerusalem

An Israeli man was attacked by a Palestinian on the Temple Mount yesterday. The incident started a few minutes after the Israeli entered the site, accompanied by three other right-wing activists. Dozens of Palestinians surrounded the Israelis, claiming to have seen one of them mumbling a prayer - a violation of the status quo, which forbids Israelis from praying on the Temple Mount. Police immediately began escorting the Israelis from the site, at which point, one of the Palestinians attacked one of them with a two-way radio he happened to be carrying. Police removed the four Israelis from the mount and started searching for the assailant.
