IMRA'S Gallup Poll on Critical Golan Issues - Main Results

Dr. Aaron Lerner
December 29, 1999

A Gallup Poll of a representative sample of adult Israeli Jews commissioned by IMRA finds that only 28.4% would support an agreement between Israel and Syria if the agreement does not limit at all the strengthening of the Syrian army. Only a third (33.4%) of those polled would support the deal if implementation would require increasing taxes. The survey also found that three fifths (59.8%) of those who would support such an agreement consider the security issue to be the principal consideration.
