Netanel Riachi
May 28, 2002 - Netanel Riachi, 17, of Kochav Ya'akov, was one of three yeshiva high school students killed in Itamar, southeast of Nablus, when a Palestinian gunman infiltrated the community and opened fire on the teenagers. Netanel was an 11th grade student at the Hitzim yeshiva in Itamar, which serves students aged 14-18 from throughout the country. His roommate of the last year and a half described him as an excellent student who would help his friends with their studies. Like Avraham Siton, Netanel was a volunteer in Kav LaChayim - Chai Lifeline - an organization devoted to providing moral and financial support to children suffering from cancer and other serious illnesses such as cerebral palsy, as well as those requiring organ transplants Netanel's parents, Shlomo and Shoshana, are among the founding members of Yakir. He was the second child in the family. His brother coordinates security in the community. Netanel Riachi was buried in Jerusalem. He is survived by his parents, brother and sister.
