Bella Schneider


Mar 20, 2002 - Bella Schneider, 53, of Hadera, was one of seven people killed in a suicide bombing of an Egged bus No. 823 traveling from Tel Aviv to Nazareth at the Musmus junction on Highway 65 (Wadi Ara) near Afula.

The attack occurred around 7 AM., shortly after the No. 823 Egged bus had stopped to take on passengers at the Umm el-Fahm junction. A few moments later, the terrorist detonated the explosives strapped to his body, blowing himself up and killing or wounding all of those with him on the bus, which was completely gutted. Bella Schneider was one of four soldiers and three civilians killed in the blast.

Bella Schneider immigrated to Israel form Moldavia with her husband Yaakov and their two sons in 1980. Bella had worked for years as a rgistered nurse in the Sha'arei Menashe psychiatric hospital. Early Wednesday morning she had taken the bus to attend a course at the Jezreel Valley Regional College, where she was studying to complete a degree.

Bella Schneider was buried in Hadera. She is survived by her husband, her two sons Gadi (31) and Yigal (29), as well as her mother and sister.
