SWO Meir Fahima
Mar 20, 2002 - Senior Warrant Officer Meir Fahima, 40, of Hadera, was one of seven people killed in a suicide bombing of an Egged bus No. 823 traveling from Tel Aviv to Nazareth at the Musmus junction on Highway 65 (Wadi Ara) near Afula. The attack occurred around 7 AM., shortly after the No. 823 Egged bus had stopped to take on passengers at the Umm el-Fahm junction. A few moments later, the terrorist detonated the explosives strapped to his body, blowing himself up and killing or wounding all of those with him on the bus, which was completely gutted. Meir Fahima was one of four soldiers and three civilians killed in the blast. Meir Fahima was borned and raised in Kadima. He served in the IDF for 23 years. After serving on the Golan Heights for many years, he was transfered six years ago to the IDF Na'ura base and lived with his family in Hadera. He traveled each morning by bus to his base. SWO Meir Fahima was buried in the Hadera military cemetery. He is survived by his wife Etti, his daughters Natali (14) and Ortal (9), and his son Lidor (2).
