Eyal Lieberman


Mar 12, 2002 - Eyal Lieberman, 42, of Tzoran was killed and another person was wounded in a shooting attack at the Kiryat Sefer checkpoint, east of Modi'in.

Eyal Lieberman was traveling with a security guard at around 7:30 AM when shots were fired at his car two kilometers east of the entrance to Kiryat Sefer. The car flipped over and Lieberman, who suffered serious bullet wounds, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lieberman, a resident of the community of Tzoran in Samaria, was a lieutenant-colonel in the reserves who had previously commanded a armored battalion. Lieberman worked as a contractor and security man for MTN Millennium. Lieberman also had many Arab friends in the area, whom he used to visit, helping them obtain working permits.

The General Manager of MTN Millennium said, "Eyal was active in all fields: real estate, building, security and communications with the Arab neighbors, and he helped all the entrepreneurs in town. As an IDF reserve officer, he also volunteered to be a security advisor for the Modi'in local council."

Eyal Lieberman was buried in Jerusalem. He is survived by his parents, Ora and Dor, two brothers, his wife, Idit, and two children, Tomer (7), Alon (4).
