Nehemia Amar
Feb 16, 2002 - Nehemia Amar, 15, of Ginot Shomron was one of two teengagers killed when a suicide bomber blew himself up on Saturday night at a pizzeria in the shopping mall in Karnei Shomron in Samaria. Nehemia had gone with his older brother Moshe to eat pizza when the terrorist detonated the bomb. Moshe had left his brother for a minute; Nehemia was fatally injured. Nehemia was the third student from the Bnei Chayil Yeshiva in Kedumim to be killed in a terrorist attack during the past year. The junior and senior high school for boys was established four years ago to provide a framework for pupils suffering from attention deficit disorders (ADD) who have difficulty coping in a regular framework. Rabbi Ya'acov Waldberg, one of Amar's teachers, said Amar was the focus of the class and exhibited leadership qualities. "He constantly initiated ideas to be implemented in the class, he always sought to push things forward and progress," he said. Nehemia was a good student, who was known for his sense of humor. Nehemia Amar was buried in Karnei Shomron. He is survived by his parents, Yosef and Ilana, and five siblings.
