Yitzhak Snir
Aug 6, 2001 - Yitzhak Snir, 51, of Ra'anana, an Israeli diamond merchant, was shot dead late at night in Amman, Jordan. Yitzhak Snir owned a jewelry factory with two Jordanian partners. He would travel to Amman every Monday and return home to Israel on Thursday. He had excellent relations with his Jordanian partners. Snir is believed to have been shot five times in the back by unknown assailants as he walked from his car to his apartment in Amman. While the motive remains unclear, two terrorist groups have claimed respnosibility for the murder. His death is being investigated by the Jordanian authorities. Yitzhak Snir is survived by his wife, Nurit, and three children, aged 18 to 26.
