Liana Sakiyan

June 1, 2001 - Liana Sakiyan, 16, of Ramat Gan, was one of 19 people killed in a suicide bombing at a Tel-Aviv discotheque shortly before midnight on Friday night.

Liana arrived in Israel from Moscow a year and a half ago, together with her parents and twin brother Pyotr. A friend of hers said that, despite her family's absorption difficulties, she had tried to integrate into Israeli society as quickly as possible. Liana went to the disco with two girlfriends, who were injured in the blast.

Liana will be buried in Kibbutz Givat Brenner.
