Moshe Yohai
June 29, 2004 - Moshe Yohai, 63, of Ashdod, was found shot to death in Beit Rima, a Palestinian Authority-controlled village near Ramallah, where he had reportedly gone on business. The Aksa Martyrs Brigades claimed responsibility. Yohai had arrived in the town in his truck, apparently intending to sell building materials. His would-be buyer, a Beit Rima resident, was an eyewitness to the murder and told Shin Bet security service investigators that a terrorist had shot Yohai once in the heart. His body was found in the cab of his truck, whose motor was still running. Yohai was known to police for his frequent visits to the town, which is in a Palestinian area that is off-limits to Israelis. "Moshe wasn't afraid of Palestinians," related a friend. "He would always say that they had no reason to harm him, because after all he was helping them. "Two nights ago they called him and asked him to deliver some merchandise to the roadblock on the Green Line. He was a truck driver for 15 years and would deliver construction materials to all kinds of places in Judea, Samaria, and on the seam line." 'He had a heart of gold; he would help everyone," said another close friend. Moshe Yohai was divorced and is survived by four adult children.
