Ro'i Arbel

Jan 13, 2004 - Ro'i Arbel, 29, of Talmon, was killed in a terror shooting ambush near his home in Samaria.

Ro'i Arbel was on his way home from work at the Motorola branch office in Ramat Gan. He had taken a ride with a neighbor and had almost reached Talmon when terrorists opened fire at a bend in the road. Ro'i, struck in the head, was mortally wounded and died within minutes. Three other passengers of the vehicle were wounded. The Fatah Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack.

Ro'i grew up in Kedumim, where he attended school. After completing his studies at the yeshiva high school in Karnei Shomron, he served in the IDF as an officer in the Golani Brigade. He then took a degree in electrical engineering at Tel-Aviv University before beginning his work at Motorola.

Ro'i and his wife Hagit moved to Talmon three years ago with their two daughters. Just three months ago, Hagit gave birth to triplets - two girls, Tal and Emuna, and a boy. The boy has not yet been released from the pre-natal unit, and has not yet been circumcised and named.

Ro'i Arbel was buried in the Dolev cemetery. He is survived by his wife Hagit, their five children, Or (5), Hodaya (3), and the triplets, and his parents, David and Nehama Arbel.
