Gila Moshe
Sept 9, 2003 - Gila Moshe, 40, of Jerusalem was one of seven people killed in a suicide bombing at Cafe Hillel on Emek Refaim St., the main thoroughfare of the German Colony neighborhood in Jerusalem. Anxious at the terror alert, Gila Moshe had not allowed her two children to go to the Malha mall on Tuesday. Instead, she spent the afternoon with them in the Pisgat Ze'ev neighborhood where they lived. She then phoned a friend whose daughter serves at the Tzrifin army base to make sure she had not been hurt in the bombing that afternoon. In the evening, Gila went with a friend to hear a performance by singer Boaz Sharabi at the Jerusalem Theater. Afterwards the two women went to Cafe Hillel, which she often frequented. Gila was killed in the blast. Gila worked as a secretary in an insurance firm. Her sister, Orna Ben-Yishai, described her as a devoted mother, full of life, who would play with her young children as if she were their age. Gila Moshe was buried in Jerusalem. She is survived by her husband Boaz, their daughter Sapir, 11, and son Nir, 9.
