David Peretz

Nov 28, 2002 - David Peretz, 48, of Beit She'an was one of six people killed when two terrorists opened fire and threw grenades at the Likud polling station in Beit She'an, where party members were casting their votes in the Likud primary.

At around 3:20 P.M. two terrorists arrived in a stolen vehicle, opened fire and threw grenades at people crowding around the Likud branch, which is located near the central bus station. Both terrorists were killed by a Border Police officer who lives in the area. The Fatah al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack, in which six were killed and over 40 wounded. The terrorists were killed by an off-duty Border Policeman.

David Peretz - "Dido" - worked for many years as a truck and taxi driver, and in recent years as a handyman. Everyone in Beit She'an knew of his skill, and whenever anything in the house was broken, they said, "Let's call Dido." He was at the Likud polling station, serving as secretary of the station, when he was killed by the terrorists who burst into the room.
