Sgt.-Maj. Amihud Hasid
Oct 27, 2002 - Sgt.-Maj. Amihud Hasid, 32, of Tapuah was one of three IDF soldiers killed in a suicide bombing at the Sonol gas station at the entrance to Ariel in Samaria while trying to prevent the terrorist from detonating the bomb. Amihud Hasid settled with his family in Tapuah, a community in Samaria, five years ago, where he was responsible for security. He later returned to the army and served as a regional defense officer. Amihud was at the gas station in Ariel to pick up soldiers to guard nearby settlements when the terrorist was identified. He and two IDF officers were killed trying to subdue the terrorist when the bomb exploded, and about 20 others were wounded. Sgt.-Maj. Amihud Hasid was buried in Rosh Ha'ayin. He is survived by his wife Orly and their five children: Dvir (8), Daniel (7), Michal (6), Doron (5) and Tomer (2).
