Yosef Ajami
Sept 18, 2002 - Yosef Ajami, 36, of Jerusalem was killed when terrorists opened fire on his car near Mevo Dotan, north of Jenin in the West Bank. Yosef Ajami had worked for the Barashi construction firm for over ten years. He was driving home from the firm's current project - paving a bypass road around the West Bank village of Ya'abad. As he was traveling on the nearby Ya'abad-Mevo Dotan road, Palestinians opened fire at his car. Ajami, hit by a bullet and mortally wounded, lost control of the vehicle, which overturned by the side of the road. A foreign worker from Romania, who was sitting alongside him in the car, was lightly injured. The Fatah al-Aqsa Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack. Tamir Barashi, one of the owners of the construction company, described Yosef as a dedicated and trustworthy worker. They had worked together during the last six months in the Jenin area. Yosef Ajami was buried in Jerusalem. He is survived by his wife Aliza and their four children, the youngest of them a two-month-old baby.
