Adi Dahan
Jun 5, 2002 - Adi Dahan, 17, of Afula, was one of 17 people killed when a car packed with a large quantity of explosives struck Egged bus No. 830 traveling from Tel-Aviv to Tiberias at the Megiddo junction near Afula. The attack took place at about 7:15 in the morning. The force of the explosion lifted the bus into the air, and reduced the car carrying the bomb to charred metal. The car exploded near the gasoline tank of the bus, causing it to burst into flames. Most of the casualties were soldiers who were on their way to their bases. The Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack. Adi Dahan boarded the bus in Tel-Aviv, where she had spent the evening with her boyfriend Noam, to return home to Afula. The youngest in her family, Adi was an 11th grade student at the ORT school in Afula. Her brother Shlomi (26) was killed two months ago in the Eilat mountains, when his car fell from a cliff. Adi had been the family's mainstay since the accident. Adi Dahan was buried in Afula. She is survived by her parents, Gabi and Marcel, her sister Galit (28) and her brother Doron (24).
