Oleg Paizakov
Oct 7, 2004 - Oleg Paizakov, 32, of Bat Yam and his wife Ludmilla were killed in the terror bombing at the Hilton Hotel in Taba - one of two tourist sites in Sinai hit the same night. At around 22:00, a blast ripped through the Hilton Hotel in the resort town of Taba, near the border with Israel. The powerful blast was caused by car bomb which exploded at the entrance to the hotel, containing an estimated 250-300 kg of explosives, causing the collapse of part of the hotel. At about 23:30, two additional explosions occurred in the camping area of of Ras a-Satan, located about 45 kilometers south. Oleg and Ludmilla Paizakov went to Sinai to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. This was their first vacation without their two sons, Daniel and Yigal. As the younger of the two did not have a passport, they stayed home with their grandparents. They were in their hotel room at the Taba Hilton when the bomb exploded and the hotel wing collapsed, killing both. Oleg and Ludmilla, who both immigrated to Israel from Kazakhstan 11 years ago, met in Israel and married. Oleg worked as a sanitary worker at Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv. His boss there described him as a quiet and good worker, well-liked by his co-workers, who never complained or caused problems. Oleg Paizakov is survived by his two sons, Daniel, 8, and Yigal, 3, as well as his parents, who live in Tel Aviv.
