Ariella Fahima

Dec 21, 2004 - Ariella Fahima, 39, of Moshav Nehusha, south of Beit Shemesh, was stabbed to death at the door to her house, apparently by a terrorist who infiltrated the perimeter fence.

Ariella Fahima had returned home with a friend from shopping at the market in nearby Beit Shemesh shortly after noon. She apparently put down her groceries at the door and then she went outside to the yard, where she was ambushed and killed - her throat was slit and she was repeatedly stabbed. Her body was discovered by her 12-year-old daughter who returned from school.

Searches detected a hole in the perimeter fence of the religious moshav and tracks leading to one of the Palestinian villages across the Green Line, less than two kilometers away.

Her husband, Yoel, is a volunteer in the local Border Police unit whose task it is to protect the moshavim and villages from Palestinians. There is no security fence in the area.

Ariella Fahima was buried in Ashkelon. She is survived by her husband and four children.
