Winston Mideast Analysis & Commentary

Arafat - Hamas - Islamic Jihad are Joined at the Hip

The statement squeezed from Yassir Arafat by the world community was an interesting bit of Arafat flim-flam, knowingly carried forward by the World Media. What Arafat really said to his own people in Arabic was that: "I am ready to consider a cease-fire". Was the Media so ready to be fooled?

What the Media printed and the squeezing nations chose to believe was that he said: "I will implement a cease-fire". Now, under pressure from the U.S., Arafat has agreed to a "sort of" cease fire. Hamas, one of Arafat's operational partners has stated that it will continue its terror attacks. Hamas claimed responsibility for the bombing in Tel Aviv that killed 20 teenage Israelis, mostly girls - maiming 120 - some for life.

Arafat's PLO factions have long ago put aside the pretense that all terrorist factions were NOT closely linked although they are in almost daily contact and coordination. The good cop-bad cop routine could be a TV series if it were not so deadly. This is not TV; it is real life and death. Arafat proclaims his efforts for Peace while Islamic Jihad and Hamas vows to send out suicide bombers (they claim to have recruited 250 new suicide bombers). Arafat will mildly condemn the attacks and some U.S. stooge will congratulate Arafat on his "commitment to peace". The networks and newspapers who pander to the Arabs will and have glorified Arafat's commitment to Peace and the Israelis will continue to bury their dead. (June 12th they buried a 5 month old baby boy, Yehuda Chaim Shoham, killed by a rock through their family's windshield.)

The Head of the American CIA, George Tenet previously tasked with penetrating the PLO and other terrorists by offering them special training in communication, returned to the area as a mediator. Saeb Erekat is the last paid CIA spokesman still in position to play his designated role. Others like Faisel Al Husseini just died and Hanan Ashwari has dropped into silence for the moment.

Dennis Ross and Martin Indyk of James Bakers' Jewish Arabists, will be replaced by another of Baker's Jewish Arabists, Daniel Kurtzer.

In the meantime, the Arafat game plan is to seemingly lower the terror 'temporarily' so the world community can force Sharon into a thing euphemistically called the "Peace Process". Israel's Prime Minister Ariel (Arik) Sharon has seemingly fallen into the trap set by the pro-Arabist U.S. State Department. So, Arafat is 'alluding' to Peace while his other factions conduction terrorist operations - albeit on a lower scale. Until June 11th there have been at least 109 shootings, roadside bombs and suicide bombings since Arafat declared his fake cease fire. The misnamed "Peace Process" is about to return in a rush. (Or as Foreign Minister Shimon Peres calls it the "Piss Process").

The massive arms smuggling will continue as well as the preparations for a full scale war against Israel with sophisticated, high tech arms supplied by the West.

There is, of course, no way to de-program all the children and teens Arafat's people have taught to hate and kill Jews. They are deeply committed to war and to dying as suicide bombers.

They are human time bombs who can be triggered any time in their lifetime. So, whether the atrocities come today from Hamas, tomorrow from the Palestinian Authority aka PLO and later from Islamic Jihad, they are all the same creatures. It is a typical bait-and-switch game played well by the Arabs and accepted by American and European Arabists. Israel has always won on the battlefield in 6 wars but, also always, loses in negotiations due to American and European pressures.

Too bad the Jews always opt to play this fixed game at which we always lose.
