This Tuesday November 16, the Republican and Democratic Senators will vote on whether to grant $400 million American tax-payers' dollars to the man recently discovered to have collaborated with Iran by providing the explosives that blew up the U.S. Marine Barracks in Lebanon, killing 241 American Marines.
Thanks to investigative research by NEWSWEEK MAGAZINE, it was uncovered that our own NSA (National Security Agency) had tape recorded a September 24, 1983 conversation between the Iranian Ambassador in Syria to his foreign minister giving his instructionsm, which he had already given to Abu Haidar, leader of the Husaini Suicide Forces Movement, to get weapons (explosives) from Yassir Arafat to undertake an extraordinary operation against the Marines in Beirut. President Clinton has had this information for some time and the Congress has also been notified.
The Congress had previously voted $500 million dollars, with the proviso that the money would be released only if the President could confirm that Yassir Arafat had tried to make Peace by keeping the provisions of Oslo. President Clinton could not offer such proof - although he did have the State Department issue a falsified document which claimed that Arafat did comply. Much of the money was transferred to Arafat despite his blatant non-compliance. Most of that money was transferred to Arafat's own private bank accounts.
Now again, the President is demanding that the Senate provide an additional $400 million of American tax-payers' money, with many risking their Senate seats in the coming elections. Clearly, it will be difficult for the Senators of both parties to defend their vote when asked by their opponents, their constituents, the families of the 241 Marines, as to why they voted $400 million dollars to the man who not only assisted in the killing of our Marines but who also ordered the murders of 12 Americans, along with the over 300 Israelis murdered since the signing of Oslo.
Clearly, these Senators will soon face the wrath of not only the entire Marine Force but also all of the services - Army, Navy, Air Force, when they learn of Arafat's culpability in the murders of their fellow soldiers.
Our American Senators did try to advance the peace process when they funded the first $500 million dollars, as an inducement for the PLO to give up terrorism. They took a chance - which failed - that these terrorists could become more civilized. Now, under great pressure from President Clinton, they are being asked to do so again despite Arafat's record.
It's time that we told these Senators that a vote which amounted to Dishonoring our American Dead, will be held against them when it is time to vote them back into office. Tell them that: If they will not vote their conscience, we, the American public will vote our consciences. We will not forget the dead as our Senators appear to be.
Following is a short list of Americans killed by Yassir Arafat. It does not include Arafat's connection to Sheik Abdel Rahman's World Trade Center bombing and the list of their victims. Israeli intelligence has evidence that Arafat was involved in the planning of the World Trade Center bombing in February 1993. Arafat said several days before the bombing: "It will be good for the Americans to understand that, if they don't talk with me, they'll talk with bombs."
It does not include the cross linkage of the PLO and their connection to the terrorists who captured Col. William Higgins and CIA Station Chief William Buckley who were tortured to death. It does not include Arafat's collaboration in terrorists operations with Hamas, Hezb'Allah, DFLP (Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine), Libyan, Syrian, Iranian terrorist operations against American targets.
It does not include those Kuwaitis murdered, plundered or raped in August 1990 when the resident Palestinians led the invading army of Saddam Hussein to the key Kuwaiti military targets, Kuwaiti leaders, sites of gold and loot.
It does not include the havoc caused by Arafat's PLO in trying to take over the State of Jordan in 1970 which caused King Hussein to evict them from Jordan into Lebanon.
It does not include the hundreds of thousands of Lebanese civilians, killed while the PLO ran a military dictatorship and caused a 12 year civil war in Lebanon.
It does not include Arafat's order to execute the American Ambassador Cleo No=E9l, Jr. and George Moore, his aide, as well as the Belgian Charges Des Affaires - which had been tape recorded by Israel and given to the CIA.
This is just the short list of American citizens killed by one of Arafat's terror groups:
What will the record of the Republican and Democratic Senators be when they vote on this issue of funding Arafat? Will they vote to "Dishonor Our Dead Servicemen?"
Let us remember each Senator and the Party they serve in the coming elections for President and Senate.
