Arafat's Jewish collaboratorsBy: Shlomo BaumJanuary 24, 1998 The refusal of Washington's Holocaust Museum to permit Arafat an official visit to the museum infuriated some of his most devoted collaborators. The Kibbutz Artzi movement hastened to send Arafat an invitation to visit the Holocaust Museum at Kibbutz Yad Mordechai. The Secretary of the Kibbutz Artzi movement wrote the following: "The extremist elements behind the cancellation of your visit to the museum in Washington are damaging the reconciliation between our peoples". And here we finally solve the mystery of why there has been no reconciliation between the two nations, and who is responsible. Ordinary Jews, citizens of Israel, wonder and ask themselves why MAPAM moved with such alacrity to defend this arch-murderer, Yassir Arafat? Why were they so eager to appease this repudiator of the Holocaust - Hitler's ideological heir? Why could they not rest until they had invited this vermin to visit the Holocaust Museum at Yad Mordechai?! This calls for an explanation, and although the explanation may be complex, and even complexed, I will try to make it brief. The Hashomer Hatza'ir movement has always viewed itself as part of the worldwide revolution that had it origins in the Soviet Union. Ordinary, normal people have only one country, one homeland. Members of MAPAM had two - the Soviet Union was their second homeland and their high command was always in Moscow - not, G-d forbid in the Jewish homeland in Israel. And when the Soviets established what was known as the World Peace Movement, the Hashomer Hatza'ir movement became an integral part of it. And now, you ask, how is all this connected to Yassir Arafat. Here's how. From the time the high command of the World Peace Movement in Moscow so warmly embraced the PLO terrorist organization, Arafat became an integral part of that movement. That is how Arafat became the darling of MAPAM, which so willingly joined the Palestinian Brotherhood movement. While it is true that we have here a slightly problematic love story, since the movement to liberate Palestine of all Jews declares its intentions openly and unequivocally - love conquers all as the saying goes. From here, it is a smooth and natural transition to the reaction of the chairman of Yad Va'Shem , Avner Shalev, who stated: "Canceling the visit in Washington was a very strange step, and if Arafat is invited by the government to visit the museum in Jerusalem, we will receive him at Yad Vashem. Please note how familiar these words sound. It is as if the administration of the Kibbutz Artzi movement and the chairman of Yad Vashem have coordinated their responses. And suddenly, oops...I recall that they both have a common background... he is also a product of the World Peace Movement and a member of the Palestinian Brotherhood. It's interesting that in that day's copy of Yedioth Aharonoth, I discovered another member of the Palestinian Brotherhood - none other than our very own Carmi Gilon .He wrote an article headlined "Do We Really Want Peace". The article was amorphous and lacking in any content or meaning. In effect, the headline reflects the content. There's no doubt that Arafat wants peace and the only question is whether we, the Jews, really want peace. Do you all understand that? I would like to dwell on one point in his pro-Arafat article. The Oslo Accords, he says, contained a clause on which all representatives of the security forces concurred - that fact that there was little likelihood of the Palestinian Authority extraditing suspected terrorists to Israel. The question is whether the people who cooked up the Oslo Accords actually understood that fact? And why did they sign a document enabling Arafat's terrorist organization to sidestep this obligation? The answer is appallingly clear and simple: the Oslo Accords, from start to finish, were a conspiracy between Shimon Peres, Beilin and their minions, and the PLO, to lull the Israeli public into believing that this was a peace agreement. Note the underlying terms of the agreement: an army equipped with Kalachnikovs, machine guns and armored cars called "police cars". A pullback from the essential territories of Judea and Samaria is called a "PULSATION", and supreme is the abominable lie that we're talking about peace. Carmi Gilon, former head of the GSS (General Security Service)- a certified bungler and wimp - feigns innocence of any knowledge, while continuing to hustle the lie of peace, effectively collaborating with Arafat. The leftist media provides him with a ready stage. After all, he too is a member of the peace brigade and the Palestinian Brotherhood. In conclusion, anyone who thinks that some order should be made in the GSS so that it can do its job, must demand the establishment of a government board of inquiry that will closely examine at Gilon's role from the day he was appointed to head the GSS, and why he was appointed in the first place. |
